CTIS 465 is about building backend systems the way modern companies actually deploy them: as small, independently deployable services that talk to each other over HTTP and sit behind a gateway, rather than one monolithic app. You'll spend the semester incrementally building a working multi-service system in ASP.NET Core and C#, wiring up Entity Framework for the database layer, structuring code along Clean Architecture and SOLID lines with CQRS/Mediator, securing endpoints with JWT, and finally containerizing everything with Docker and Ocelot. Assessment is mostly two project increments plus a final, so the real learning happens by shipping code; if you've taken the earlier .NET and OOP courses in the CTIS track, this is where those pieces come together into something resembling a production architecture.
