Curriculum isn't a neutral list of what gets taught, it's a contested artifact shaped by competing philosophical, psychological, and sociological commitments, and this graduate seminar pushes you to see those commitments behind any syllabus or reform. You'll read Schiro and Marsh alongside primary sources, write analytical essays for the midterm and final, and run a small-scale investigation of how a real curriculum is actually implemented, from research questions through instrument design to discussion. It's foundational for anyone heading into curriculum development, teacher education, or education policy, since the frameworks you build here are what later coursework on assessment, instructional design, and program evaluation assume you already speak.
