This is a graduate methods course built around the question of how you actually *do* rigorous non-numeric research, how you design a study, justify your interpretive stance, and turn interviews, texts, or archives into defensible claims. Expect to run several small research projects across the term, presenting and writing them up while learning NVivo and engaging with traditions like discourse analysis, grounded theory, and actor-network theory. It's the methodological backbone for anyone heading into a thesis in the social sciences or humanities-adjacent fields, where the hard part isn't collecting data but reading it without fooling yourself.
