This is a graduate seminar on how children and adolescents come to perceive, evaluate, and act toward social groups, how prejudice, fairness, and prosocial behavior actually develop rather than how they look in adults. You'll read primary literature each week, write thought papers and discussion questions, lead sessions, and ultimately design your own study, culminating in a grant-style paper proposal defended in a research workshop. It sits at the intersection of developmental and social psychology and is really preparation for doing research in the area, so expect the workload to lean heavily on critique and original design rather than memorizing findings.
