A graduate-level reading seminar built around one rotating theme in neuroscience, this iteration centers on the evolution of cognition and behavior, tracing how ethology, adaptationism, modularity, and ecological rationality reshape what counts as a mind. You will read primary literature each week, deliver two presentations, and close the term with a written essay or research proposal that defends a position rather than summarizes one. It sits at the point in the PhD track where you stop consuming textbooks and start arguing with papers, which is the habit the rest of your training assumes you already have.
