Building on LNG 114, this course pushes your Spanish into the second half of B1, where the goal shifts from surviving simple exchanges to actually negotiating meaning, giving advice, reporting what someone else said, defending an opinion in a debate, and narrating past events with some texture. Expect to spend class time speaking and listening rather than memorizing tables: assessment leans heavily on in-class speaking activities and an oral presentation, alongside written and listening exams covering subjunctive uses, the imperative, reported speech, and verbal periphrases. It rounds out the intermediate sequence, so if you want to continue toward upper-intermediate Spanish electives or use the language abroad, this is the level where you stop translating in your head.
