Modern web development at this level is less about learning syntax and more about understanding how JavaScript actually works under the hood, execution contexts, the prototype chain, the event loop, and using that knowledge to build full-stack systems that scale. You'll spend the semester writing real code: a Node/Express backend with REST APIs, auth, and Socket.IO for realtime features, paired with a React frontend using hooks, context, and routing, all evaluated through two practical skills exams alongside the written midterm. It sits at the end of the CTIS web track, turning the HTML/CSS/PHP basics from earlier courses into the kind of architecture decisions (MVC, microservices, SQL vs NoSQL) you'll actually face on the job or in your graduation project.
