LNG 191 Arabic I

A ground-up entry point to Modern Standard Arabic for students with no prior exposure, starting from the alphabet and building toward A1.1-A1.2 on the CEFR scale. You'll work through the first eight lessons of Abboud's textbook, drilling equational sentences, the case system, idafa constructions, and the perfect tense, while practicing all four skills through speaking activities, a verbal presentation, two midterms, and a final. It's a standalone elective for anyone wanting a Semitic-language foundation, and pairs naturally with LNG 192 if you want to continue past survival-level reading and conversation.
