LNG 141 Italian I

LNG 141 is Bilkent's entry point into Italian as a living language, building from zero toward CEFR A1.1 so that you can actually function in basic everyday situations, introducing yourself, asking where someone is from, talking about your routine, rather than just memorizing paradigms. The work is split across all four skills with the *Volentieri!* textbook: regular performance tasks, homework, quizzes, a midterm, and a final, plus in-class participation that forces you to speak from week one. There are no prerequisites and nothing in the curriculum strictly builds on it; it's a free-elective language credit that pairs naturally with LNG 142 if you want to continue, and it counts as a humanities-style breadth course alongside your major.

Students must attend at least 80% of the face-to-face lectures. Each LNG Coded course consists of 56 hours. Non-attendance is allowed till 12 hours. A student with more than 12 hours of Non-Attendance will receive an FZ grade, and the course will be graded as unsuccessful. . In this case, the student can’t participate in the final exam. Students must reach 40 Points from all assessments till the final exam.
